Why a fruit tree

A fruit tree does not give just once: season after season, it feeds, protects and brings together the community around it.
- It feeds familiesMangoes, oranges or lemons: vitamin-rich fruit shared by families and children.
- It gives shadeOnce grown, its leaves offer shelter from the heat, for people and animals alike.
- It protects the soilIts roots hold the earth and limit erosion during heavy rain.
- It lasts a long time30 to 70 years depending on the species: a charity that continues long after the planting.

Sadaqah jariyah
Planting a tree, a charity that keeps growing
Sadaqah jariyah is the charity whose reward continues after death. A tree that feeds and gives shade is one: as long as it benefits people and animals, the reward continues, God willing.
The Prophet (peace be upon him) said:

โNo Muslim plants a tree or sows a crop from which a bird, a person or an animal then eats, without it being counted for him as charity.โ

โWhen a person dies, their deeds come to an end except for three: a continuing charity (sadaqah jariyah), knowledge that benefits others, or a righteous child who prays for them.โ
You can plant your trees in your own name or in the name of a loved one, living or departed.

Plant my treeFrequently asked questions
Planting a tree: your questions
A real person from our team will answer you, in English or French.
Why plant a fruit tree rather than another tree?
Because it is useful every day: besides shade and protecting the soil, it gives fruit that families eat and share. That is also what makes it a beautiful sadaqah jariyah: every fruit eaten by a person, a bird or an animal counts as a charity (hadith narrated by al-Bukhari, no. 2320, and Muslim, no. 1553).
Mango, orange or lemon tree: which one should I choose?
All of them benefit families for decades, with the same tracking. The mango tree lives the longest; orange and lemon trees give citrus fruit rich in vitamin C. The simplest: pick the fruit that speaks to you, or the one loved by the person you dedicate the tree to.
Is planting a tree a sadaqah jariyah?
Yes, God willing. The Prophet (peace and blessings be upon him) said that no Muslim plants a tree from which a bird, a person or an animal then eats, without it being counted for him as a charity (narrated by al-Bukhari, no. 2320, and Muslim, no. 1553). As long as the tree gives, the reward continues.
What does the price of a tree include?
The tree, its planting by our partner, the photo and video of the planting, and online tracking. It is $35 for one tree, and the price per tree goes down with the quantity. Only the name on the sign is optional.
Can I plant several species at once?
Yes. Add each tree to your basket from its page, then pay for everything in a single payment. Each tree or bundle then has its own tracking, with its photo and video.
Can I plant trees for a school, a mosque or an association?
Yes: choose a bundle, up to 10 trees at once, and write the group's name on the sign. For a bigger project, write to us: we will see together how to organise it.
